Over the years, Delany’s Coffee has grown with the communities we’re lucky enough to be a part of. We’ve added store expansions, new menu items, shop renovations… and finally, a new visual identity. This year, we decided to pour ourselves into a rebrand. One that captures the cozy, west coast feel that’s always been at the heart of Delany’s. Inspired by the colours of the landscape around us, and the people who make our cafés feel like home, we’re proud to introduce the 2025 Delany’s rebrand. We hope you love it as much as we do.
Over the past few years, Delany’s has been growing; not just in size, but in spirit. With the opening of our Moodyville location, beautiful renovations at some of our original shops, we started to feel like we were entering a new era. One that deserved a fresh look.
What started as a single neighbourhood coffee shop has evolved into something much bigger. A true community hub. Whether you’re stopping in for your morning espresso, having a quiet moment with a book, or catching up with a friend, Delany’s has become a space for connection. We’re so proud of that, and we wanted our brand to reflect who we are today, not just who we were when we first opened our doors.
As part of that evolution, we also found ourselves looking outward to the incredible place we get to call home. The West Coast has always been our backdrop, but it’s easy to forget just how special it is. The calm feel of the ocean, the forest covered misty mountains, and the orange gradient sunsets of Vancouver’s landscape all inspired the new visual direction you’ll now see across Delany’s. Our rebrand is rooted in the textures and tones of the coast, and in the feeling of being somewhere familiar, grounded, and real. Because change, as everyone knows, is good. A new look can spark a new chapter. And while we’ll always be the same Delany’s at heart, this fresh design marks the beginning of something exciting. It’s about honouring where we’ve been, while opening the doors to what comes next. Welcome to the new Delany’s. Still your local coffee shop. Just with a little more West Coast woven in.
When we started designing the new Delany’s logo, we knew one thing for sure, the coffee cup had to stay. It’s been a familiar and beloved part of our branding for years, and we wanted to carry that with us into this new chapter. But this time, we wanted to take it a step further. You’ll notice the cup’s handle doubles as a uppercase “D,” a subtle nod to Delany’s Coffee Co., or part of the words in our full logo. And inside the cup? That’s where our West Coast roots come through. The layered shapes represent the mountains, inspired by the coastal landscape we’re lucky to be surrounded by. What we loved most, though, is how different people saw different things during the design process. Some saw whipped cream, others saw latte art, and some even said it looked like ocean waves. And that’s kind of the magic of it, because Delany’s means something different to everyone who walks through our doors.
If you’ve seen some of our new posts lately, you may have noticed a subtle design element in the background: a series of flowing, layered lines. These aren’t just for looks. They’re topographic lines, a bird’s-eye view of the very mountain ranges that surround our communities. Whether you’re sipping your coffee at one of our North Shore cafés with the peaks just beyond the patio, or you’re sitting at Delany’s on Denman looking across the Burrard Inlet at the mountains in the distance, those ridgelines are always there. Constant. Majestic. Comforting. For us, they felt like an essential piece of the rebrand. A quiet but powerful reminder of where we are and who we serve. The mountains are more than just a backdrop to daily life; they’re part of the rhythm, the inspiration, and the identity of Delany’s. Including them in our new look was our way of honouring that, and of bringing a little piece of the landscape into every cup.
Our new colour palette was born straight from what you see all around you. A daily masterpiece we’re lucky to witness. Each shade is tied to a place or a feeling we hold close. The deep, rich blue is pulled from our vast ocean and the shadows of the coastal mountain ranges. The soft turquoise reflects the shallow waters along local beaches, and the deep green speaks to the old-growth forests that have surrounded our cafés for decades. Finally, the warm tan and burnt orange tones are taken from those perfect West Coast sunsets; the ones that spill golden light over the city just before the evening chill rolls in. These colours aren’t just beautiful, they represent everything we’re a part of. The land, the water, the sky, the people. They’re a love letter to our home, and a key part of how we wanted this rebrand to feel: grounded, familiar, and proudly local.

At the end of the day, this rebrand wasn’t just about giving ourselves a fresh start, it was about creating something that reflects you. Our community has always been at the heart of Delany’s, and we are endlessly grateful for your support, your stories, and your love over the years. We wanted this new look to capture the warmth, comfort, and beauty of this province we all call home. So thank you, for growing with us, for showing up, and for being such a big part of who we are.
